High Definition Workflow with Steve Panning

Mr. Steve Panning is a local editor for the past twelve years who started Chicago HD. Chicago HD provides flexible and affordable high definition post-production services to local video and film producers. Chicago HD provides a whole host of post and conforming services. From creative cutting to up/down conversions of standard and high definition projects, Chicago HD offers a truly unique service for Chicago’s professional film/video community.

Mr. Panning took some time to speak about issues facing HD production, from video workspace problems to upconversion realities. By being part of the pre-production phase Chicago HD helps with the collaborative effort being put together no matter what the final output media might be. Also, Mr. Panning took us through a couple of projects that were being showcased in the meeting lobby on a full High Definition FCP system courtesy of Midwest Media Group and HD Monitor courtesy of Fletcher Chicago.

Also, Mr. Brian Espel of Lock6 Productions presented a recent project of a one hour video shot on BetaSP that ultimately went to HD projection system, a 60GB edited sequence. For more information, click on over to: www.chicagohd.com.
